"Finally, a school that
teaches classical skills..."

60% of all our students have no prior formal training. They joined the Stevenson Academy with just a strong interest in art. Yet, all of our students are blown away with their first and second paintings produced here. Our carefully prepared curriculum is based on our committment to the fullest development of each students' talent and skills. Starting with the right foundation, an emphasis on the fundamentals of fine art training, our instructors use many of the same principals and techniques of 19th Century European art academies. We teach the skills for entry levels students and up to the serious student seeking to become a professional artist.

Our students come from all areas of Long Island, from Bayside, Queens to South Hampton, and range in age from forteen to seventy-four.

High School Students
For high school students, we offer portfolio development at no additional charge. Ninety-five percent of our high school students are accepted into the fine art college of their choice, with many receiving partial or full scholarships. Our students have gone to prestigious, top-name art schools across the country, such as RISD, MICA, Parsons, and Savannah College of Art and Design. We work with the student on independent projects designed to create an exceptional portfolio that encompases all the entry requirements of a fine arts college.

Observe Our Classes Before Signing Up
Prospective students are always welcome to observe a class prior to signing up. If you have previous work, you are encouraged to bring it on that day. Call the office prior to the class you would like to observe, to make an appointment.

Student Testimonial
"After completing this wonderful course, I finally feel like I have the fundamentals- the basic tools necessary to create more complicated pieces in the traditional style. Not only is the level of instruction first-class, but the learning environment is warm and supportive. I would highly recommend this unique course to anyone looking to acquire invaluable skills and confidence in their artistic endeavors."

~ Maren Cardillo, Current student at Stevenson Academy Program at ALLI
