60%
of
all
our
students
have
no
prior
formal
training.
They
joined
the
Stevenson
Academy
with
just
a
strong
interest
in
art.
Yet,
all
of
our
students
are
blown
away
with
their
first
and
second
paintings
produced
here.
Our
carefully
prepared
curriculum
is
based
on
our
committment
to
the
fullest
development
of
each
students'
talent
and
skills.
Starting
with
the
right
foundation,
an
emphasis
on
the
fundamentals
of
fine
art
training,
our
instructors
use
many
of
the same
principals
and
techniques
of
19th
Century
European
art
academies.
We
teach
the
skills for
entry
levels
students
and
up
to the serious
student
seeking
to
become
a professional
artist.
Our
students come from all areas
of Long Island, from Bayside,
Queens
to South Hampton, and range
in
age from forteen to seventy-four.
High
School
Students
For
high
school
students,
we
offer
portfolio
development
at
no
additional
charge.
Ninety-five
percent
of
our
high
school
students
are
accepted
into
the
fine
art
college
of
their
choice,
with
many
receiving
partial
or
full
scholarships.
Our
students
have
gone
to
prestigious,
top-name
art
schools
across
the
country,
such
as
RISD,
MICA,
Parsons,
and
Savannah
College
of
Art
and
Design.
We
work
with
the
student
on
independent
projects
designed
to
create
an
exceptional
portfolio
that
encompases
all
the
entry
requirements
of
a
fine
arts
college.
