Peggy Simmons
Pottery Instructor

Peggy Simmons has been a professional potter and ceramic art teacher for over 25 years. She founded the Potter's Wheel Studio and Gallery in Queens, New York where she was instrumental New York potters to throw pots and hand build with clay. In addition the gallery sold the work of hundreds of glass, wood and jewelry artists from across the country. Peggy has studied with ceramicists Steven Hill, Randy Johnson, Robin Hopper, Ken Bichell, and other prominent potters. A video, "The Potter's Wheel", featuring Peggy demonstrating the basics of wheel-throwing is shown regularly on Time Warner's public access channel. Peggy recently sold The Potter's Wheel after sixteen years and now concentrates on making and teaching pottery here at the Stevenson Academy.
