The
Stevenson Academy
Program recently
completed its Spring term
at The Art
League of Long
Island. This was
the first term
since these two
institutions joined
forces following
the closing of
The Stevenson
Academy
of Fine Arts (SAFA)
in
Oyster Bay.
Several
dedicated instructors
are
honoring SAFA's
founder, Attila
Hejja, at the
Art League
of Long Island
(ALLI) in
Dix Hills, by
continuing
to
teach the
time-honored
classical
art
program he
developed.
The
Stevenson
Academy
Program
at
the Art
League
of
Long Island
continues,
albeit
as
a separate
entity,
with
the
same
drawing
and painting
program,
highly-qualified
instructors,
and
tradition
of excellence.
The
transition was
a
success.
Many of the students
from the old Stevenson
Academy continued
their studies at
ALLI. Large,
airy classrooms
and beautiful facilities,
along with the
familiar props and
equipment from
SAFA, provided a
welcoming atmosphere
for students to
resume their studies.
Students were
provided with the
same quality instruction,
attention and
support that they
have come to expect
from the Stevenson
Academy. The Stevenson
Academy instructors
are extremely
grateful to the
Art League of
Long Island for
their generous
support and for
making us feel
welcome in our
new home.
Please
join us on August
7th from 6:00 to
8:00 at The Art
League of Long Island
as they host a reception
for The Stevenson
Academy Program.
Come tour the facilities
and say hello to
some old friends.
The
Art League of
Long Island is
the oldest
and largest
art
league on Long
Island. They
have an
incredibly beautiful,
two-story gallery,
spacious classrooms
and a wide
selection of
classes,
workshops, exhibits,
lectures, museum
tours, fine
art
and
craft shows.

here for pictures of this gorgeous facility. The
gallery
and classrooms
are located
at exit
42N off the
Northern
Parkway;
just 15 minutes
from the old
SAFA
building in
Oyster
Bay.
